Refugees and the Holocaust: Have we learnt our lessons?
Tuesday 16 June from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm BST
Ruth Barnett MBE is an author, academic, educator and psychotherapist who came to the UK on the Kindertransport in 1939. In this online workshop she is joined by Moses Seitler, an educator and refugee practitioner with experience in Holocaust and Refugee studies, to explore whether we have learnt the lessons of the Holocaust.
Over the course of the hour, Ruth and Moses will explore the situation that refugees face today, the need to stand in solidarity with the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities as well as other marginalised groups, and how to bring about the equality of persons that the Holocaust commands.
Do we live in a bystander society? What role do the stories of Holocaust survivors play in fostering solidarity? How do we actualise Human Rights for all? Join René Cassin on June 16th to explore these questions and ask your own. Ample time will be given for discussion, debate and learning from one another.
The session is free of charge and open to all.
