Modern slavery workshops, part 2 – the Asylum System
Sunday 27 February 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm GMT
Following on from our introduction and ‘spot the signs’ workshop for our synagogue volunteers, this second part will look in more detail at the specific intersection of modern slavery and the asylum system. This will explore why modern slavery is prevalent in this area, looking at specific case studies, and providing practical advice on what a survivor might look like and how to help them safely if volunteers come across these individuals.
This workshop will be delivered by Dr Julia Tomas from The Passage, a homeless charity with a dedicated division addressing and aiding modern slavery survivors and victims, many of whom have experienced the asylum system.
