With a range of speakers – including activists from religious groups, faith leaders and survivors of detention – the event will illuminate:
• how immigration detention causes harm
• what faith groups can do to challenge it
• the potential for community-based alternatives to detention

- Rabbi Natan Levy (chair) – Faiths Forum for London
- Edgar from Freed Voices – with experience of detention
- Rabbi Aaron Goldstein – Chair of The Conference of Liberal Rabbis and Cantors – an active participant in refugee and asylum issues, supporting Jewish detainees at Harmondsworth
- Reverend Nathan Ward – formerly headed an immigration removal centre and has since come out against the inhumane condition of indefinite detention
- Grace Da Costa – Public Affairs and Advocacy Manager, Quakers in Britain – detention and refugee rights campaigner and human rights champion
- Agnes Tanoh – Women for Refugee Women; Community organiser
- Naomi Blackwell – Detention Outreach Worker with The Jesuit Refugee Service
