RenéCassin AGM: 15th June

Our AGM is happening in a few weeks time, in Southwark. The meeting represents a great opportunity to get involved, and we'll be making some major decisions on our future.

We'll be electing our Chair(s), voting on our new governance structure, and hearing about an evaluation into our educational programmes. It doesn't sound like much in writing, but some major decisions will be made.

Straight after the AGM, we'll be looking for new volunteers to join our Trustee Board and Committees. If you believe in our work, and have the skills and experience to support fundraising activities, finance, strategy development, campaigns and/or our educational projects, we would love to hear from you.

To help lead the Jewish community's work on human rights, contact info@renecassin.org to put your name forward, or to find out more.

Helen Bamber in Conversation at the Jewish Museum: 12th May

A date to place in your diaries:on 12th May, hugely respected human rights campaigner Helen Bamber will talk about her lifelong work with victims of violence.

Helen addressed our 2009 November Training Day, and is a leading player in her field. We are delighted to say that our Co-chair Maya Jaffe will carry out the interview. Helen will cover everything she has worked on during her distinguished career in human rights. Participants will hear of the support she gave to Holocauset survivors in her late teens, and of her establishment of the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture in 1985.

The talk will start at 7.30pm, and we'll send out more information nearer the time. You can look at the Jewish Museum's website to book and get more information.

Human Rights Shabbat: Will your Synagogue take part?

Applications for the 2010 HRS Programme are now closed

We are now recruiting Synagogues for our second wave of Human Rights Shabbats, with the aim of bringing social action to a new set of communities across the capital.

Our Human Rights Shabbats enable Synagogues to develop lasting social action projects, and bring top-quality human rights education to communities. RenéCassin will offer guidance from start to finish, helping to plan projects suited to each community we work with.

We will provide support at every stage, from promoting your event(s), to helping you keep your community socially active over the long-term.

We are able to support ten communities in the Greater London area through this project, so we need to hear from you as soon as possible.

Get in touch at info@renecassin.org, to take advantage of this opportunity.
