Human Rights Education
Human Rights Education is fundamental to the promotion and realisation of global human rights. Through education, people of all ages can become aware of human rights values in an environment that provides them with the skills, knowledge and power to actively sustain them. Human Rights Education helps to create a culture that both promotes and protects universal human rights.
As a Jewish human rights organisation, we are ideally placed to develop and promote human rights education work within the UK Jewish community. Our experience living as Jews in a cosmopolitan society, coupled with our extensive human rights skills means we have the knowledge to educate on global human rights whilst appreciating the particular concerns of the UK Jewish community. As such, our human rights education programme is tailor-made to complement the needs of the Jewish Community in this country.
In addition to our work within the UK, we also aim to support, contribute and cooperate with human rights education in the wider Jewish world and human rights communities.
Renecassin’s Education Programme aims to:
• Assign a place for Human Rights Education within Jewish Curriculum
• Generate a commitment to the promotion of local and universal human rights amongst UK Jewry
• Create a culture of tolerance and awareness within the UK Jewish community
• Nurture activism and empowerment on behalf of human rights protection
• Outreach to the wider Jewish world on human rights issues
• Co-operate and add to global Jewish human rights initiatives.
Please follow the links on the left hand menu to find out more about the ways in which Renecassin tries to fulfill these aims, as well as its international campaigns and hosting of provocative and informative educational events.
